The world-renowned sports brand PUMA and the Brazilian Palmeiras Club jointly launched the team’s new home jersey. With the theme of “Quando Surge o Palmeiras”, the new jersey is designed to commemorate the team’s historic victory at the 1942 Campeonato Paulista 80 years ago, which was later called The famous “Arrancada Heroica” was an important part of the Palmeiras team at the beginning.
The new jersey will make its debut in the team’s match against Ponte Preta at Allianz Parque on Wednesday, and the team will also wear the jersey at the 2021 FIFA Club World Cup. “This jersey depicts our glorious history and we will wear it in pursuit of a second world championship trophy,” club president Leila Pereira praised.
The theme recalls one of the team’s most emblematic moments, which marked the end of the era of Società Sportiva Palestra Italia and the beginning of the history of Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras. Backed by the slogan, the promo recreates the mixed emotions that fans had on Palmeiras matchdays. The film also mentions the moment when the “Alviverde” took to the field for the first time in the name of Palmeiras, after a decisive match they won the 1942 São Paulo Championship. The front of the home jersey has several gradient palm leaf patterns, which not only represent the new life of the club, but also a symbol of victory and eternity. In addition, the retro white V-neck and cuffs restore the design of Palmeiras’ first jersey. The jersey features a regular cut with a woven club crest and an embroidered PUMA logo. Made from 100% recycled polyester, the jersey combines advanced PUMA dryCELL thermal regulation technology for a snug fit that keeps athletes dry and comfortable at all times. At the same time, the back of the jersey features an ultra-light jacquard construction to enhance breathability during intense matches.
