Spanish club Atlético Madrid, reigning Spanish La Liga champion, have released their home kit earlier today. Now, we could also have a first look at their new away, third and fourth jersey in the upcoming domestic Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League seasons.
To celebrating the 75th anniversary of the name Atletico Madrid, the team would like to pay tribute to the important moment and will wear fourth kit the upcoming season. The crest of the Spanish club also evolved, as the wings that represented the Spanish aviation disappeared.
Legendary moments in the past 75 years were also commemorated with the dark blue away jersey. The away kit also reminds fans of the year, in which heroes like Kiko, Pantic, Caminero, Simeone, Vizcaino, and other red and white players. Their former stadium the Vicente Calderón also plays a significant role in their brilliant history. Many historic achievements and moments have taken place there.
To round off the anniversary tributes, we will unveil a red kit inspired by two historic moments: the first leg of the European Cup semi-final and the 1985 Copa del Rey final that we won against Athletic Club. This jersey will contain the badge that coincided with the change of name from Atlético Aviación to Atlético de Madrid on Jan. 1, 1947, along with the slogan ’75 years honouring your name’ in the middle of the shirt.
